Covid 19 Protocols

OIC and Palos Verdes Golf Club (PVGC) takes safety seriously at all times, so you can be free to have fun at our Swing for Kids Golf Classic. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic, so you can be confident that we are following the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, LA County Department of Public Health and our public health partners’ updates and recommendations.

Here are some of the protocols we have implemented for our golf tournament, to ensure your day of play is safe and worry-free:

  1. We will have assigned tee times (every 10 minutes), off #1 and #10 (beginning at 10:00am)
  2. No formal “registration” (no lines, no waiting) – everyone will be asked to register (and provide their credit card) ahead of arrival
  3. Part of the registration process is the completion of a COVID questionnaire
  4. Temperatures will be taken upon arrival
  5. Golfers must put their own bag on their own cart (carts will be ready and named/labeled for you for your tee time)
  6. Breakfast goodies (all served by the Club, wrapped), Bloody Mary Bar and Tee Gifts before you tee off
  7. Putt in the contest before you tee off (just you and your foursome on the putting green)
  8. 2 bags per cart
  9. One driver at a time
  10. One golfer walks; one drives
  11. We will have a “sanitation station” every 3 holes: volunteers will be there to wipe cart down, so that driver/walker can change places

(So, everyone will get a bit more exercise!)

  1. All golfers will be given their own hand sanitizer to carry with them
  2. Masks (and gloves, as appropriate) will be worn by all volunteers at all times
  3. Masks are asked of golfers when in any common area (OIC will supply extra masks)
  4. All food is being prepared and served according to county standards (a culinary extravaganza will be throughout the course!)
  5. No banquet

Instead, we are having a 19th Hole – stop at the clubhouse for a gourmet coffee and desserts (to go if you like), play Chuck-A-Luck, have one last “cheers” before you go on your way
